Today’s highlight is the Darley July Cup one of the most prestigious and valuable sprints in the racing calendar. The Aussie speedball Scenic Blast, so impressive when scorching home in the King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot, is a worthy favourite, but the most fascinating runner in many ways is the Queen Anne winner Paco Boy who reverts to sprinting having been campaigned over distances in excess of 6f since his juvenile days. Golden Jubilee winner Art Connoisseur is the third Royal Ascot winner in the line-up but Scenic Blast looks a worthy favourite in the Group 1 contest due off at 3:10pm. Formula 1 Championship leader Jenson Button sees his chance for revenge this weekend on German Sebastian Vettel, who was victorious at Button’s home GP in Silverstone last month. Formula 1 moves to Nuerburgring in Germany on Sunday and Stan James will be betting on the Practice Sessions and Saturday’s Qualifying as well as on Sunday’s race, which is live on BBC1 at 1.00pm.

Angel has flown the Big Brother nest so that leaves 11 lucky contestants still fighting it out to be crowned winner of Big Brother 2009, however 11 will soon become 10 with the eviction of either Halfwit or Sree this week. Freddie is up for the 4th time running but has become the shows 7/4 strong favourite to win overall it’s very likely he’ll survive once again. Rodrigo has dropped down to joint second favourite this week alongside Siavash. Sree is Stan James favourite to go this week mainly due to his stalking of Noirin, maybe all his obsessing has sealed his fate which may see his Big Brother dream coming to an abrupt end.
